Perhaps, like me, worn down by COVID and having to stay home but knowing it’s the right thing to do and going a bit bonkers, you have been watching a lot of sports.  In back and forth texts with my college roommates every night, I mentioned that I’ve seen the Portland Trailblazers play more times since the NBA Bubble began than I did in the 15 years before that (when I moved away from Portland) combined.  Last night, when there was no NBA to watch, I took the time to pay to watch a documentary, something I almost never do and why not, it’s new, it’s interesting and it’s chock full of nudity because, well, because that’s the damn point. A Century of Film

The Golden Globes

I should probably start with the obvious: the Golden Globe Awards are a registered trademark of the HFPA (which is also trademarked).  I don’t have their permission to write any of this (and I don’t need it) and I don’t own any of the photos.  They are also a major part of the film industry, whether anyone likes it or not (and many people don’t for very good reasons).  They have been around for a long time and there is a lot that is odd but also some that is very good about them.  So I’ve compiled a post of various info, trivia and assorted little tidbits about the awards, organized by category.
