So, after a year of claiming that he was already 5, Thomas actually is 5. This first video is him blowing out his candles. If you have problems with it, you can try viewing it here. I’ve had problems with Youtube videos lately, so sorry if it is kind of jumpy for you.

Here is the picture that was promised.

If you go to the rest of the post, there are also some pictures as well as an explanation of the other video I shot.I attempted to do a tour of new apartment to show those family and friends who can’t or won’t come visit. But I didn’t think about the 10:00 limit on Youtube, or that I have no program to edit my video, so the last two minutes simply got cut off and will remain cut off until I think of something. But you get almost all of it, and you can see what our new place is like if you go here.

Now, for some pictures. Thomas had his last day of pre-school yesterday. It was a bit emotional, but it will be much more so when he reaches the end of his summer program and leaves his teachers behind. But, here are some pictures from yesterday and today.

We had originally planned to go to the Bronx Zoo for his birthday. It’s the third time we planned this and all three times, we have had our plans destroyed by the weather. So, our backup plan was to go to the Aquarium. But the weather got better in Boston, so we headed to Southwicks Zoo, which is probably the best zoo in New England.

We certainly were able to do a lot. We took a Skifari ride, which was a bit nerve racking because Thomas has been kicking off his shoes lately and if he had done that, they would have been gone forever, so we spent the ride holding his legs still, but it was still a very nice view.

They have a lot of animals (and a lot a lot a lot of kinds of monkeys). They have a small petting zoo, several major animals (rhino, lion, tiger, giraffe, elephant, alligator) and they even have animal rides. We took Thomas for a ride on an elephant as you can see!

The other really neat thing is they have a Deer Forest, a large fenced area with at least 100 deer that will walk right up and eat out of your hand. I actually had one picture ruined because right as I went to take it, a deer nibbled on my hand and threw off the shot, because Thomas jerked back.

Anyway, he got lots of presents and had a very nice birthday.
